Hello everyone!
So my Instagram, YouTube and email had been filled with stuff about a new(ish) app called Free Prints. So I wanted to get some info out there and let everyone know what the deal is.
What you do is download the app, no profile or saved financial data, from the Google Play or Apple Store. The app is quick and easy, very intuitive and asks you to start the process right away.
You select your images (10 free prints a month, but there are ways that give you additional free prints and print events all the time) from your phone. You may use Facebook, Instagram, Flickr or Google Photos. But also Dropbox, which is incredibly useful. So basically any images you can put in Dropbox can be printed.
Then you simply give an address, not saved, and pay for the shipping ($1.99 to a $9.99 max) and you are done. And you get this in the mail:
The print quality is pretty decent considering it's free. These are not amazing, archival prints. These are not going to your clients. But they are decently detailed color/black and white glossy or matte prints (I prefer the matte) in a 4x6 size. These are great for your personal spaces, albums and fridge. Spruce up the cubicle a bit.
When you order more than your free allotment, you will pay, but if this is random images you have shot on your phone or some behind the scenes snaps you love you will probably not go over.
They offer larger prints and a few other things, but that's when you start paying. The quality is worth it though, so don't let me stop you if you need prints. There is a photo book version of the app available as well. (That may be coming here soon)
A quick YouTube search will find more info, but that's really all you need to know. Check the play store, its the one with the little blue butterfly icon.
